Mandrake the Magician
The Planes Are Armed
par
Mandrake the Magician brings the adventures of the celebrated stage illusionist and crime-fighter to radio. With his companion Lothar, Mandrake uses extraordinary powers of hypnotic suggestion and illusion to confront danger and outwit criminals.
The program presents a serialized adventure in dramatic radio form, using dialogue, narration, and sound effects to carry the action. Its stories draw on the world of mystery and peril, where Mandrake’s ingenuity and seemingly impossible abilities help him face threats that ordinary methods cannot easily overcome.
The result is a brisk blend of fantasy, suspense, and crime adventure, centered on a hero whose greatest weapon is the power to make others see—and believe—what he chooses.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
