NBC University Theater

Number One

English · Dramatic Readings, Radio

NBC University Theater brings literary works to radio in dramatic adaptations, presenting stories and plays through performance rather than narration. The program offers a way to encounter literature as an acted production, with voices and sound carrying the scene.

Its format centers on a featured work, shaped for broadcast and performed by a cast. The result is a listening experience built around dialogue and dramatic interpretation, inviting attention to the language, characters, and unfolding action of the selected material.

The series combines the accessibility of radio drama with the range of literary storytelling. Its appeal lies in hearing written works take on a vivid, theatrical life through performance.
