World News Today is a news broadcast offering a contemporary radio perspective on events around the world. Its reports bring listeners into the wartime news environment of 1944, when developments abroad and their significance for audiences at home were central concerns of daily broadcasting.
The program presents news in a direct broadcast format, with spoken reports rather than a dramatic storyline. Its appeal lies in hearing how international events were communicated to listeners at the time, through the concise, immediate style of radio journalism.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
