Meet the Press
Fiorello La Guardia

Meet the Press is a public-affairs interview program built around direct questions and discussion of current issues. Its format brings a prominent guest before a panel of journalists, who probe the guest’s views and record in a conversational but often challenging exchange.
The program’s appeal lies in hearing public figures explain their positions in their own words. Rather than presenting a scripted drama, it offers the immediacy of an interview, with follow-up questions and differing perspectives shaping the conversation. This recording features Fiorello La Guardia, the former mayor of New York City.
The tone is serious and engaged, with the focus on ideas, public service, and the issues of the day. Listeners interested in political history can hear how a well-known figure responds under questioning in the distinctive, unscripted setting of a radio press interview.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
