The Black Cat (1895-1922) was a monthly literary magazine, publishing original short stories, often about uncanny or fantastical topics. Many writers were largely unknown, but some famous authors also wrote original material for this magazine.
The third issue from Volume 6 offers the following stories:

> Doctor Goldman, by Don Mark Lemon: can a murdered man seek retribution from the beyond ?

> Semper Idem, by Jack London: doctors should be careful with the advice they give their patients
> The Vase of the Mikado, by A. Ernest B. Lane: follow a collector on his adventurous expedition to find a precious treasure
