The Gallows Diamond
von
Ellery Queen, the brilliant amateur detective, brings his powers of observation and deduction to a mystery in this episode of The Adventures of Ellery Queen. The series centers on Ellery and his father, Inspector Richard Queen, whose professional police experience complements his son’s analytical approach.
The program presents a radio detective story built around clues, suspects, and the challenge of working out the solution. Listeners are invited to follow the evidence alongside Ellery as the investigation unfolds, with the mystery’s title, “The Gallows Diamond,” suggesting a case shaped by danger and a valuable jewel.
Its appeal lies in the classic puzzle-mystery format and the contrast between Ellery’s intellectual sleuthing and his father’s practical police work. The result is a focused, suspenseful listen for fans of radio crime dramas and fair-play detective stories.
