The Scarlet Pimpernel
The General's Son
von
The Scarlet Pimpernel follows the daring exploits of the mysterious English hero who rescues people from danger during the French Revolution. By day, Sir Percy Blakeney appears to be a foppish aristocrat; in secret, he leads a band of allies in bold missions to save those threatened by the revolutionary authorities.
The radio adaptation brings the adventure to life through dramatic dialogue, suspenseful situations, and the contrast between Percy’s seemingly frivolous public manner and his resourceful, courageous identity. Its stories draw on disguise, daring escapes, and the risks faced by those caught in a time of political upheaval.
Romance and swashbuckling action give the series its distinctive appeal. Listeners can enjoy a classic adventure built around a clever hero whose wit and careful planning are as important as his bravery.
