The Adventures of Ellery Queen

Dead Man's Cavern

English · Radio

Ellery Queen is a brilliant amateur detective who works alongside his father, Inspector Richard Queen, to solve baffling crimes. The series brings the celebrated mystery-solving duo to radio, where listeners can follow the clues and test their own deductions as each case unfolds.

Episodes typically present a self-contained mystery, with Ellery examining the evidence and weighing possible explanations before revealing the solution. The stories draw on classic detective-fiction pleasures: suspicious circumstances, carefully planted clues, and the challenge of distinguishing a convincing theory from the truth.

The program’s appeal lies in its blend of investigation and audience participation. Ellery’s analytical approach gives the mysteries a satisfying structure, while the dramatic radio presentation lets dialogue, sound, and suspense bring each case to life.
