Tales of the Texas Rangers
Hanging by a Thread
von
Tales of the Texas Rangers is a Western police drama following Texas Ranger Jace Pearson as he investigates crimes across the state. The series draws on the work of the Rangers, presenting Pearson as a lawman who relies on observation, questioning, and practical detective work to uncover what happened.
Episodes combine the atmosphere of a Western with the structure of a crime investigation. A case may begin with a report of trouble or a puzzling discovery, then unfold through interviews, clues, and Pearson’s efforts to identify those responsible. The title “Hanging by a Thread” gives this recording its episode name.
The program’s appeal lies in its blend of frontier setting and procedural storytelling: the open landscapes and traditions of Texas law enforcement meet the steady logic of a detective drama. Its serious, action-oriented tone offers a distinctive take on the Western, centered on solving cases rather than simply staging gunfights.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
