Have Gun – Will Travel
Nellie Watson's Boy
by
Have Gun – Will Travel follows Paladin, a highly educated and impeccably mannered gunfighter who offers his services to people in trouble. Based at San Francisco’s Hotel Carlton, he is known by the calling card he leaves behind: a chess knight bearing the words “Have Gun – Will Travel.” His work takes him wherever a client’s problem calls for a steady hand and a sharp mind.
The radio series blends Western adventure with moral dilemmas and personal conflicts. Paladin may face danger, but the stories also turn on questions of justice, loyalty, and the cost of violence. His cultured conversation and practical skill make him an unusual figure in the frontier world, and his encounters with clients and adversaries give each adventure its own stakes.
John Dehner’s performance gives Paladin a composed, thoughtful presence, balancing dry wit with the readiness of a professional gunfighter. The result is a polished Western drama with action and reflection in equal measure.
