Voyage of the Scarlet Queen
The Spaniard and the Laskar Pirates
von
Voyage of the Scarlet Queen is an adventure series set aboard the schooner Scarlet Queen, whose voyages carry its crew through ports and waters around the world. Captain Philip Carney commands the ship, with first mate Red Gallagher at his side, as they encounter danger, intrigue, and unfamiliar people in distant places.
The program blends maritime adventure with the atmosphere of a travel story. Episodes follow the ship and its crew into situations shaped by the places they visit, from tense encounters to mysteries and conflicts at sea. The title “The Spaniard and the Laskar Pirates” points to an episode centered on a clash involving pirates, while the series’ broader appeal lies in its changing settings and recurring shipboard characters.
With its dramatic narration, sound effects, and evocative sense of the sea, the series offers a vivid, fast-moving listening experience. The Scarlet Queen’s journeys provide a steady thread through stories of risk, discovery, and life far from home.
