CBS Radio Workshop
Storm
CBS Radio Workshop was an experimental anthology series that brought drama, comedy, and other forms of radio storytelling to the air. Each broadcast offered a self-contained program, with the series’ flexible format allowing it to explore a wide range of subjects and styles rather than follow one continuing cast of characters.
“Storm” is presented as an episode of the series. The title suggests a dramatic setting, while the anthology format places the focus on the individual story and its radio performance. Sound, music, and spoken dialogue create the scene for listeners, making this a program to experience through its unfolding audio rather than through a continuing serial plot.
The series is remembered for its willingness to experiment with what radio drama could do. Its varied approach makes each installment a distinct listening experience, and “Storm” offers a chance to hear one of those standalone productions.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
