Wild Bill Hickok brings the legendary frontier lawman to radio in a Western adventure series starring Guy Madison as Hickok, with Andy Devine as his loyal companion, Jingles. Together, the pair ride through the Old West, facing danger and helping people caught up in trouble.
The program combines action, suspense, and humor in a dramatic radio format. Hickok’s courage and quick judgment are balanced by Jingles’s comic personality, giving the adventures a lively partnership at their center. This recording is titled “Cave-in at Careful Smith's Mine,” suggesting a mining-country setting for the featured adventure.
With its clear heroes, frontier atmosphere, and energetic performances, the series offers an accessible blend of Western excitement and light comedy. The contrast between Hickok’s steady resolve and Jingles’s good-natured antics gives the show its distinctive warmth.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
