Information Please is a radio quiz program built around questions from listeners and the quick-witted exchanges of its expert panel. Host Clifton Fadiman guides the discussion, while regular panelists Franklin P. Adams, John Kieran, and Oscar Levant bring their distinct knowledge and personalities to the questions.
The format blends factual answers with lively conversation. Panelists draw on literature, history, science, and popular culture, often adding anecdotes, wordplay, and friendly challenges along the way. Listener questions give the program its variety, and the panel’s responses make the pursuit of information as entertaining as the answers themselves.
Ben Hecht is identified with this recording. The show’s appeal lies in its combination of intellectual curiosity, polished wit, and spontaneous-sounding banter: a relaxed contest of knowledge in which the conversation is as enjoyable as getting the answer right.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
