Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar - 3 missing episodes found by the Old Time Radio Researchers


Three missing episodes of Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar were found in 2025 in what the Old Time Radio Researchers refer to as the "Florida reels." These reels originated from collectors active between the 1960s and 1990s, and their recordings have been transferred to modern digital files. Although the sound quality is not prime, these episodes are still very listenable.

The 1961 episodes are airchecks from an unspecified station, likely from Hartford, CT, as they were found among the reels of a pioneer collector located there. The survival of these recordings is remarkable, considering they were recorded on a low-end consumer reel deck with cheap tape and stored in poor conditions for 60 years.

These recordings fill in long-missing gaps in the series. John C. Abbott, an expert on Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar and author of the reference book The Who is Johnny Dollar Matter?, has prepared summaries and analyses of these episodes. He has generously granted permission for these summaries to be shared as part of the series' historical preservation effort.
