Decomposed Theatre

Decomposed Theatre is a trilogy of short pieces taken from Romanian author Matéi Visniec’s modular play, presented here in English translation by Jozefina Komporaly. This new audio adaptation explores the author’s topical vision of three plagues descending on an unnamed town, shedding light on how we experience crisis and change today.

Directed by Kate O’Connor and performed by Maria Forrester, with sound design by Sam Halmarack, this production invites listeners to reflect on contemporary issues through the lens of Visniec's work. Following the performance, Trafika Europe director Andrew Singer hosts a conversation with the writer and translator of this seminal piece.

This is a Trafika Europe Radio production in collaboration with the Romanian Cultural Institute New York and the University of the Arts London, with additional support from the Romanian Cultural Institute London.

This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
