Boston Blackie is a crime drama centered on Horatio “Boston Blackie” Black, a reformed safecracker who uses his streetwise instincts to help solve mysteries. With his quick wit and knowledge of the criminal world, Blackie often finds himself drawn into investigations alongside Inspector Farraday, who remains wary of his unconventional methods.
The series brings listeners into a world of murders, suspects, and clues, unfolding through dialogue and dramatic radio performance. In this story, Blackie becomes involved in the investigation of a wealthy widow’s murder, with her prize show dogs appearing to point toward the killer.
Boston Blackie blends suspense with a lively, personable lead character. Its appeal lies in following Blackie as he reads people and circumstances with the instincts of someone who knows both sides of the law, while the mystery gradually takes shape through the voices and sounds of radio drama.
