Lewis Terman

Lewis Terman was a pioneering American psychologist, best known for his groundbreaking work in the field of intelligence testing. Born on January 15, 1877, in the small town of Indiana, Terman's early fascination with human behavior and learning led him to earn a Ph.D. from Clark University. He is perhaps most famous for adapting the Binet-Simon scale into what became known as the Stanford-Binet Intelligence Scale, which has had a lasting impact on educational psychology and has been used to assess cognitive abilities in individuals for decades.

Throughout his career, Terman was a staunch advocate for the study of gifted children and their potential. His research included the longitudinal study of a group of gifted children, often referred to as the "Termites," which provided valuable insights into their development and achievements. Terman's work continues to influence educational practices and psychological assessments today.
