My Favorite Husband
Robert Farrell
My Favorite Husband was a radio sitcom that starred Richard Denning and Lucille Ball as Mr. and Mrs. Cugat. With Jell-O as the show's main sponsor, at least three plugs for the product were made every episode, including Ball's iconic introductory line, "Jell-O everybody!" The show debuted in 1948 on CBS Radio and continued until 1951, producing a total of 124 episodes.
Initially, Mr. Cugat was characterized as a rich banker, while his wife, Mrs. Cugat, was a socially prominent figure. However, in the latter part of the series, new writers transformed the Cugats into a middle-class couple, believing that listeners could better relate to them.
