Pontypool By Tony Burgess
Tony Burgess
In the sleepy town of Pontypool, no one is safe from a mysterious new virus so devastating it will leave you literally speechless. Shock jock Grant Mazzy has been kicked off the Big City airwaves and now only has a job at CLSY Radio in Pontypool, Ontario, broadcasting from the basement of the town's only church.
What begins as another boring day quickly turns deadly when reports of strange speech patterns and horrendous acts of violence start pouring in. As Grant and his small staff find themselves trapped in the radio station, they discover that this insane behavior is actually a deadly virus being spread through the English language itself. Will they stay on the air in hopes of rescue, or are they inadvertently spreading the virus further?
Based on the novel Pontypool Changes Everything, this adaptation follows a radio DJ tracking a frightening new virus as it spreads through his small town. As tensions rise in the studio, the staff must confront the reality of their situation: is this more fake news, or is anyone going to survive?
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
