Charming and Inspiring!

This is the second of the beloved Katy Did books, and I am so glad to have discovered them! BEAUTIFULLY read, with tender emotion and excellent inflection and expression, I won't forget the first two of this series, and look forward to sharing them with my daughter and grandchildren someday! This is the kind of story I grew up on; inspiring godly character and kindness toward self and family and all men, filled to the brim with marvelous role models and creativity, and an all around eagerness to learn and serve your fellow man... an absolutely wonderful little story that will enchant little (and big) children, and adults and the elderly as well! Here's a chance for a new generation to learn about the fun children and families had before electronics and television, and a definite opportunity to encourage imagination and creativity even now. And, perhaps even more importantly, here is a remarkably good story of how one family got through difficult times, disappointment, and severe illness, with gumption and grace! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! And many thanks to Karen Savage for a job exceptionally well and tenderly done! You have warmed hearts and certainly encouraged this reader (who has dealt with a long illness, herself). Thank you for adding such joy to our lives! I think it's safe to say we all hope you will keep enchanting us!!
another remarkable job by Karen Savage!

Wow! I listened to this when l had poison ivy and could not sleep. This really helped! Thank you, Karen! Clear, concise voice, beautiful expression, wonderful but not silly character voices. All of this helped contribute to the over all effect of beauty. I love the story plot and l even think l like it better than the first! Fans of Louisa May Alcott and Lucy Maud Montgomery will rejoice! Just go bad that Karen does not read the third one. Five star book!!!

I loved everything about this book and this reading except that the recording is playing too fast.. Is the reader really speaking that fast? I tried to slow it down but then the recording sounded very strange. Still, I wanted to give it five stars but the fifth star refused to light-up... oh, well
Enjoyed the Book

I found this book enjoyable. The reader held my interest and the volume was consistent. Some of the text, while no doubt acceptable during the last part of the 19th century, sound odd and brings up different images than were originally intended.

A simple but teaching story. Thanks to K, Savage for an excellent read

Katy is more of a model of good behavior now than she was in the first book, which makes her a little less sympathetic to me (heh). Nonetheless the story is full of vivid human emotion, and it was interesting to follow the girls as they left their little family circle and made their first venture into the wider world. Fantastic narration from Karen Savage as always. I want to continue the series but I'm reluctant to go on knowing the other books aren't from her!
