Unutterable Horrors and Loathsome Entities: Early Frank Belknap Long

Read by Ben Tucker

Of the early Weird Tales Magazine contributors, Frank Belknap Long was one of the most prolific with a career in genre fiction spanning seven decades. Many may know Long for his many science fiction stories that he produced most notably in the '40s and '50s, but his earliest fiction in the weird tradition is some of his most striking and endearing work. Long was known as being one of H. P. Lovecraft's closest friends, and Lovecraft's influence can be felt in stories like "The Hounds of Tindalos" and "The Were-Snake" among others. Join me now for a stroll through the darkest recesses of Long's subconscious where slimy creatures and gibbering madness awaits! - Summary by Ben Tucker
