"The Conspiracy of Pontiac" was Parkman's first history book and first published in 1851. It covers the Indian wars of 1763 to 1769. A fine work to illumine an off ignored saga of American history. Two comments:, Parkman's literary ability is on full display; One can only wonder why the English commanders continued to believe the words of a people who practiced lying and treachery as an accepted way of life.
