The Turn of the Screw (version 2)
Henry James
Read by Elizabeth Klett
Henry James' classic ghost story comprises the written testimony of a young governess, charged with looking after two small children at an isolated country estate, who believes they are being haunted. As the story progresses, the governess' increasingly frenetic narration provokes the question: is she insane, or are the ghosts real? (Summary by Elizabeth Klett) (4 hr 36 min)

Reviews
Great reading
turned
While I don't like the story that much, the reader is absolutely excellent! In particular, she captures the voices of the children perfectly. This audiobook is great way to get through a rather dry read (in my opinion)
Well done

Such a good job, and the ending showed the ominous enigmatic ending modern movie makers strive to emulate.
It grew on me

Had a bit of trouble getting into it but it was interesting psychologically. The pitch just grew. It was exciting.

excellent reading but some

The reading is superb however some of the text is reworded by the reader. I wanted to read the end while listening to this audio and discovered a fair number of changes. give that this book was written in English originally, it cannot therefore be claimed to be say a different translation or any such reason. I am a purest, alas, and inspire of the excellent reading, the alterations aren't ideal
Great voice
Duncan
I have wanted to hear this for a long time and wasn't disappointed. The scary parts are from when she thinks shes going mad. Even though you can hear what some of us English call 'americanisms' come through that (parsages instead of passages!) can be forgiven as Elizabeth kletts narration and British voice is amazing! Well done to all concerned but especially Elizabeth kletts. A brilliant job!
Simply wonderful!

The reader really captures the tone of the story in every way and the voices are absolutely perfect for all characters! I agree with some of the previous reviews, in that I was very impressed when I heard the children's voices in particular. Thank you for such a treat!
Weak story + good read = doable listening

I was intrigued and specially liked how the pitch kept increasing. However the story was weak and the ending very, very disappointing. The reader made it worth it, however. Allowed me to fill in dead moments while in lines or cleaning.
