Nice short-story
Hiker1956
For those complaining about the reader's style, I would assume that English is a second language based on how some words are pronounced so I can overlook this. If there is a problem with a readers cadence I can fix that by adjusting the speed of the reading. Click on the little rabbit at the top of the app screen and set it for what works for you. If you are offended by the prejudices of years past you will have a difficult time with many books here. I am also jarred by the seemingly innocent use of terms most of us find offensive today. Even as I feel the revulsion to such dialog I have to understand that times are different and we shouldn't be changing historical writings to cover our past social injustices. I have to wonder what cringeworthy things we are recording for history that our great grandchildren will find offensive.
Eerie AKG short story
glttrgrl8
This creepy short story features Detective Gryce in his younger years trying to solve the murders of many drowned wealthy older men. To do so, he has to go undercover into the seedy underbelly of the city. I enjoyed this story, and Carolin's reading was very good, as usual. There were a few words that were slightly mispronounced, but nothing that took away from the enjoyment of the story.

Good Story; Great Narrator
A LibriVox Listener
Each to their own, but I really enjoyed this reader's narration of another wonderful AKG story. I find the reader's voice very calm but the tone and intonation perfectly engaging. One of my favourite readers to be honest (though I certainly appreciate all the volunteers who contribute to Librivox in any capacity). Though as I said, each to their own and few narrators will be to everyone's liking.
Good mystery bad narrator

Good mystery but very hard to deal with narrator's style and not first time a good story has been ruined by this reader. I always have given great praise to all the volenteers for time & great readings just not my type of narrator if she is yours then enjoy!
"Thank You", most sincerely proffered by me ...

Staircase at the hearts delight.
Belle
Good short story in the usual style of this author. Unlike the previous reviewer I enjoyed the reader who has a deep but easily understood Netherlands accent to her voice that adds interest for me.
