Way of the Lawless

He made one mistake in the beginning. He pushed the chestnut too hard the first and second days, so that on the third day he was forced to give the gelding his head and go at a jarring trot most of the day. On the fourth and fifth days, however, he had the reward for his caution. The chestnut's ribs were beginning to show painfully, but he kept doggedly at his work with no sign of faltering. The sixth day brought Andrew Lanning in close view of the lower hills. And on the seventh day he put his fortune boldly to the touch and jogged into the first little town before him.. great book

(5 stars)

not sure why anybody was complaining about the ending of this book I thought it was great I don't want to give it away but it's kind of a fun way to end it

Another good one from Max Brand

(4 stars)

I really enjoyed this book, as well as I have his other books. The reader has a great voice for old westerns with a tone that makes me think that's how they actually spoke back then. The ending was not that weird or disappointing in my opinion. Surely was not what I expected but it made sense time!

Great!!!

Richard Kilmer is one of the best readers on Librivox, much better than most pros. Fascinating book...the myth of the old west...only one thing...I wish someone would explain the twist ending to me because I don't get it.

(4 stars)

The storyline is good and keeps you interested in what is happening. The reader is an excellent reader but he has no emotion in his words, really rather dry.

Another fun ride with Mr Brand! Could use a little more humor out of his characters, as in the scene of the train holdup. Otherwise, an enjoyable read.

A man and his horse

MB weaves another great story. A love story, an action western, his horse and hot steel. Well told and read.

Excellent in every way for the lover of western. Vividly described episodes develop a strong plot with a very satisfying ending.
