Brilliant short story, almost a documentary of a gamekeeper in the days of old. Absolutely love it. Also special mention should go out to Andy Minter - if you are reading this; PLEASE record more readings, I wish you could just narrate my life!

Watch out for man traps !

Very comprehensive look at a professional job and life back in the mid. 1800 to 1899's. Many today may be turned off a lot during chapter # 2, the simple callous handling of pets being left behind when the "former owners" moved away to another home and the idea of a gamekeeper killing an entire feral colony off, and his wife making rugs out of their skins for sale, almost made me very ill to hear. My dream for many years now has been to open a permanent shelter for all cats. To grant any cat, pet, abandoned pet, or feral a safe place to live with vet cares, food, water, and shelter to live out the life they choose. Right now I can only supply all that for 6 and I stay at max almost all the time. I'm so glad the majority of people are keeping their cats for life, now. Our oldest matriarch is close to 18 years young at heart, but her body is beginning to fail her valiant heart at last.
