D-99
par H. B. Fyfe
Lu par Jerry Pyle
In a universe where the fate of individuals hangs in the balance, the ultra-secret Department 99 is humanity's last hope. Tasked with rescuing five citizens of Terra who have been captured and imprisoned on distant worlds, this covert organization operates in the shadows, navigating the complexities of interstellar politics and the dangers of alien environments.
As the agents of Department 99 embark on their perilous missions, they confront not only the physical challenges of their assignments but also the moral dilemmas of intervention and the value of human life. With each rescue, the stakes grow higher, and the line between right and wrong blurs in the face of survival.
H. B. Fyfe's "D-99" explores themes of loyalty, sacrifice, and the lengths to which one will go to protect their own. This science fiction tale invites listeners to ponder the implications of freedom and the cost of intervention in a galaxy filled with uncertainty.

Critiques
Good book

This story is much like a movie, with several story lines that are tied together. D-99 is the agency that doesn't exist. It quietly helps Terrans captured on other planets to escape. Some escapes go well, some not so well. But that is what happens in a galaxy full of lots of different humanoids. Reader does a pretty good job. It is a bit rough in spots, but otherwise, no complaints. Enjoy!
Sorry not an engaging book

this is a very slow book, with occasional chapters of interest which unfortunately don't join up or go anywhere
