Excellent reading

This is the best reading of the book on librivox. I really enjoyed the narration as well as the story.

Excellent reading

I started listening to another version of this work and voice was too monotone for me. After the first couple of chapters I looked for other versions and came across this one. I found this to be an exellent reading, really clear and expressive and it immensely increased my enjoyment of the book.

(3.5 stars)

I think that the style was awesome and the mysterious atmosphere was something incredible (bravo for the narrator also for doing so!) that I had goose bumps on my arms. But I find it unsatisfying when it comes to the lengrh of the book - it was so short that when it started to become interesting and so incredibly mysterious it was nearly ending! What a shame, otherwise I would give full 4 stars :(

More of a Psychological Thriller Really

(3.5 stars)

Although this book does have elements of horror, I believe this is more of a psychological thriller. Its sort of a mix between Dracula and Frankenstein, with slightly stronger leanings toward Frankenstein. I imagine this book caused quite the stir when it was first released. The movie industry again got enough wrong to make it hard to get the book at first, but it is closer than Frankenstein.

Amazing!

I just listened to this book for the first time. I have only ever encountered Dr Jekyll/ Mr Hyde in the 1941 movie. The book is so much better! Great reader!

Quality recording

Read nicely by Kristen Hughes, this reading of a classic story is all too quick and good to pass up.

It's a good book.
