The Atomic Bombings of Hiroshima & Nagasaki
U.S. Army Corps Of Engineers and United States Army Corps Of Engineers
Read by Denny Sayers (d. 2015)
This is the official report, published nearly 11 months after the first and only atomic bombings in history (to date), of a group of military physicians and engineers who accompanied the initial contingent of U.S. soldiers into the destroyed cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The report presents a clinical description of the devastation, loss of life and continued suffering of the survivors that resulted from the world's first and only atomic bombings, to date. The appendix is an eyewitness account, contrasting vividly with the dispassionate sang-froid of the report itself, written by a German Jesuit priest who survived the blast at Hiroshima, and whose order assisted in rescue efforts following the catastrophic attack. This recording was completed on the 63rd anniversary of the events. (Summary by Dennis Sayers). (3 hr 34 min)

a semi technical history of the atomic bomb and its effects on to Japanese cities. this narrative varies greatly from what I was taught in school. the first section is related in terms only with absolutely no emotion for suffering. easy to understand yet hard to listen to at times. the last two chapters are more passionate eyewitness account of the bombing of Hiroshima. this is definitely a must read, at least once. the devastation was tremendous and makes a person rethink some personal and moral views. the reader of this does a fantastic job.
Gripping account of death and destruction

This objective, factual summary of the effects of atomic bombing unexpectedly evokes the power of a weapon that should never be used again. Reader mispronounced some medical terms, such as leukopenia.

Don't expect a story. It was very informative of the effects of the nuclear blasts and the damage the bombs caused and the short term impact on the people.
amazing

A deep look into both the physical effects of the bombings, as well as a firsthand account that is breathtaking. the reader does a marvellous job as well.
