My Friend Irma
The Redhead
by
My Friend Irma is a domestic situation comedy centered on Irma Peterson, a sweet-natured but scatterbrained young woman, and her practical roommate Jane Stacy. Irma’s misunderstandings and impulsive decisions often complicate everyday life, while Jane tries to keep their household and plans on track.
The radio program brings their friendship to life through dialogue, comic situations, and a supporting cast of familiar neighbors and acquaintances. Its humor grows from Irma’s innocent confusion, Jane’s exasperated patience, and the small social and romantic troubles that arise around them.
Warm and character-driven, the show balances affectionate comedy with the lively rhythms of a classic radio sitcom. Listeners can enjoy the contrast between Irma’s dreamy outlook and Jane’s grounded perspective, as ordinary situations turn into playful domestic mishaps.
