The Squibb Show
Love Is Sweeping the Country
by
The Squibb Show is a variety radio program built around music and comedy. Its title identifies a sponsored entertainment program, while “Love Is Sweeping the Country” gives this recording a song-centered theme.
Listeners can expect a mix of musical performance and light entertainment rather than a single continuous drama. The program’s appeal lies in the variety format: songs provide the center of attention, with comedy and other entertainment offering a change of pace.
This recording offers a glimpse of wartime-era American radio variety, where popular music and humor shared the airwaves. Its relaxed, song-led character makes it suited to listeners interested in vintage broadcast entertainment.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
