CBS Radio Workshop
The Record Collectors
CBS Radio Workshop was an anthology program that brought radio drama and other imaginative productions to the air. Rather than following one continuing cast or storyline, the series offered a changing selection of performances, with each broadcast presenting a distinct work or subject.
Its title reflects an interest in radio as a creative medium: voices, music, sound effects, and narration could be combined to shape a story or explore an idea. The program’s varied approach makes it suited to listeners who enjoy crafted audio performances and the different ways a broadcast can use sound to hold attention.
“The Record Collectors” is the episode title. The series’ anthology format offers a self-contained listening experience, with the focus shifting from one program to the next rather than relying on an ongoing plot.
