Harper's Young People is an illustrated weekly publication for children that includes short stories, tales from history, natural history, poetry, puzzles, and other entertainment. This 45th issue of the serial was published on September 7th, 1880. In this issue, the epic journey of "The Moral Pirates" comes to an explosive end but the boys already have ideas for their next great adventure. Also in this issue, the quick thinking and bravery of "Wally, the Wreck-Boy" saves lives when a freak accident causes his father's lighthouse light to go out in a storm; knowledgeable Uncle Henry teaches his nephews about the agriculture and "The Homes of the Farming Ants" of Texas; and the recently relocated Cassy Deane does her best to prepare to attend a new school and make new friends in, "In September". These stories and many more are sure to inform and inspire children of all ages.
