The Life of Riley
Halloween Haunted House
by
The Life of Riley is a radio comedy centered on Chester A. Riley, a well-meaning but often exasperated family man whose plans and opinions regularly lead to comic trouble. The series follows Riley at home and in everyday situations, with his wife, Peg, and their children providing the family setting for his mishaps.
Episodes use dialogue and comic situations to bring Riley’s domestic and working life to the air. His confident declarations often collide with practical realities, while the people around him try to keep things on track. The humor comes from familiar family disagreements, misunderstandings, and Riley’s stubborn attempts to have the last word.
Warm and character-driven, the program pairs broad comic frustration with an affectionate portrait of family life. Its central pleasure is hearing Riley bluster through ordinary problems as the household responds with patience, wit, and its own opinions.
