Chesterfield Presents As Long as I Live
by
Chesterfield Presents As Long as I Live is a radio musical built around songs and performances rather than a continuing dramatic story. Its title points to the popular song “As Long as I Live,” associated with the American songbook, while the program’s Chesterfield branding places it among the sponsored musical broadcasts of radio’s network era.
The listening experience centers on vocal music presented for a radio audience. The title alone does not identify particular performers or establish a specific episode’s repertoire, so the program is best approached as a period musical broadcast rather than as a narrative series with recurring characters or plots.
Its appeal lies in hearing popular song framed by the polished, sponsor-backed style of classic radio entertainment. Listeners interested in vintage vocal music and the sound of broadcast-era programming can enjoy it as a compact glimpse of music made for the airwaves.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
