The Six Shooter
The Coward
by
The Six Shooter stars Jimmy Stewart as Britt Ponset, a wandering cowboy whose travels across the American West bring him into contact with people facing difficult choices. Britt is a capable gunman, but the series is as interested in his judgment and decency as in the dangers of frontier life.
Each episode is a self-contained Western drama, built around a new encounter or predicament. Stewart’s relaxed, distinctive voice gives the stories an intimate feel, while sound effects and music evoke open country, small towns, and the tensions that can arise when people meet on the trail.
The series balances action with reflection and often finds its drama in questions of courage, fairness, and responsibility. Britt is neither a boastful hero nor a simple lawman; he is a thoughtful traveler who tries to do what is right without making a show of it. The result is a warm, character-led Western with a quietly humane tone.
