We first met the scheming Marplot in Susanna Centlivre's 1709 play "The Busie Body" (already recorded at Librivox). The play was so successful that Centlivre wrote a sequel, again putting Marplot in the middle of schemes, mistaken identities, confusion, and finally .... well, that would be telling.
