Frontier Gentleman follows British journalist J. B. Kendall as he travels through the American West in the years after the Civil War. Played by John Dehner, Kendall records the people and events he encounters in his journal, bringing an observant outsider’s perspective to a changing frontier.
Each episode is a self-contained adventure, told through Kendall’s first-person narration and dramatic scenes. His assignments and travels lead him into encounters with settlers, soldiers, outlaws, and other figures of the West, where questions of justice, survival, and conflicting ways of life often shape the story.
The series combines the intimacy of a personal journal with the atmosphere of a Western drama. Dehner’s measured narration gives the stories a reflective edge, while sound and performance evoke open landscapes, frontier towns, and the tensions of life far from settled authority.
