Isaac Asimov: The General
par Isaac Asimov
“The General” is a science-fiction story by Isaac Asimov, set in the world of his Foundation stories. It follows a military campaign in which strategy, political power, and the fate of a civilization are closely intertwined.
Presented as an Old Time Radio drama, the story brings Asimov’s ideas to life through spoken performance and sound. Its focus on planning and conflict offers a different kind of suspense from a straightforward battle tale: the stakes turn on how events are understood and what choices leaders make.
The result is thoughtful science fiction with a dramatic edge, suited to listeners who enjoy stories where large-scale struggles meet careful reasoning.
