Father Coughlin

Communism and Christianity

English · Religion, Politics, Radio

Father Charles Coughlin was a Catholic priest and radio broadcaster whose addresses brought religious and political commentary to a large audience. In this program, titled “Communism and Christianity,” he speaks on the relationship between the two ideologies.

Coughlin’s broadcasts are delivered as direct addresses rather than dramatic scenes, with his voice and argument at the center. The listening experience is that of a period radio sermon and political talk, shaped by his forceful public-speaking style.

This recording offers a window into the political and religious debates of its era, presented through Coughlin’s own broadcast rhetoric.

This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
