Savile Row, London

English · Music

The Beatles’ Apple rooftop concert was a live performance on the roof of the band’s Apple Corps headquarters at 3 Savile Row in London. The recording captures John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr playing together outdoors, with Billy Preston on keyboards.

The set features live performances of songs from the group’s Let It Be sessions, including “Get Back,” “Don’t Let Me Down,” “I’ve Got a Feeling,” “One After 909,” and “Dig a Pony.” The music is accompanied by the sounds and atmosphere of an unusual public performance above the busy streets of central London.

Part concert and part spontaneous city event, the rooftop performance has an immediate, unpolished feel. Its blend of familiar songs, live-band energy, and the distinctive setting makes it a vivid document of the Beatles playing together near the end of their career as a performing group.

This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
