Front and Center is a wartime-themed radio variety program built around comedy and entertainment for a military audience. Its broadcasts bring together performers from the worlds of comedy and acting, offering a lively mix of spoken entertainment and musical variety.
This installment features Bob Hope and Lloyd Nolan. Hope’s quick, conversational comedy and Nolan’s presence as an actor give the program a distinctive pairing, while the variety-show format keeps the focus on performance rather than a continuing dramatic storyline.
The result is a snapshot of mid-century radio entertainment: brisk, personable, and shaped by the performers sharing the broadcast. It offers listeners a chance to hear two familiar entertainers together in a program designed to bring humor and variety to its audience.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
