The 15-minute shows usually consisted of a musical act or a play featuring a Hollywood star. The show was unabashedly patriotic, extolling the virtues of buying bonds to finance the war effort and the needs of the home front to do everything they could to support the boys overseas.

The show was the predecessor to Guest Star, a similar show sponsored by the Treasury Department airing from 1947 into the 1970s to encourage the purchase of United States Savings Bonds.
