Reviews

Anne Fletcher has become my favorite reader. Not only does she do a consummate job, she chooses books that I really enjoy. Thank you, Anne Fletcher, for choosing books that show women in a different light than was common at the time of publication.

The Square Emerald

Excellent story teller. Complicated plot yet not hard to follow. Things come together nicely. delightful reader.

complicated plot!

Full of surprises

This story has quite the intricate plot. The reader is wonderful.

That Square Emerald

Whoa, those crazy ass women Amazing story of ups & downs, deceit forged wills & stolen babies. You gotta read this story. If only to confirm my above statement. There was one maybe 2 out of the clutch who were really great stuff.

Excellent reader, far-fetched story

The reader was really excellent in all respects -- pace, dramatisation, pronunciation... The story, though, got more and more unbelievable with the number of sheer coincidences we are meant to accept. Also a considerable amount of racism typical of the period.

Loved how this tale championed a female law enforcement officer. She was clever and funny. A very enjoyable tale. Well read by Anne Fletcher!

An absolute romp of a story, even with some of the far-fetched elements typical of Wallace, magnificently and engagingly read!
