As a fan of most all of Andre Norton's works, I'm very sorry to give this average rating. The book itself is a wonderful piece of sci-fi. However, the recording was very poor quality and difficult to hear on my smart phone. Not to detract from, and with thanks for the hard work of the volunteer reader, I have to say it sounded most of the time as if he was reading with a mouth full of cotton balls.....very distracting. COMMENT FOR Mr Davis...Sir, firstly I wish to commend you for your stepping up to the daunting task of recording an entire novel. Now, having said that...I have a bit a constructive criticism that might be good for all. Your natural voice quality and characteristics would be WONDERFUL narrating old west or post colonial works such as the tales of folk hero's like Daniel Boone or the works of James Fenimore Cooper....Robert E Howard did some great old west works that your voice would fit to a tee! Please don't take my comments wrong. Thank you for your hard work sir!
difficult to listen to

I have enjoyed many other Andre Norton works and sorry to say this is a review not about the book but the reading. Just un-listenable. I know the reader have his time and I hate to critique him but I have up after chapter 1 it was so bad. Maybe someone else is redoing this book. I'd look forward to hearing it
Too hard to listen

I am grateful to all the readers, but this is hard to understand. The background noise (like an old shortwave radio) is very distracting. I've enjoyed all Andre Norton previous books, but had to give up on this one. Sorry.
unlistenable

could only bear to listen to half of first chapter as recording quality so poor and readers voice or maybe inflection pleasant to listen to. a great shame as I have enjoyed other time trader stories greatly.
Great book

Narrator, not so good. Each time he mispronounced a word or phrase-I was like nails on a chalkboard.

There is a version by Mark Nelson which is very good. This one was just to difficult to listen too.
A Slow Read

This was not the most professional reading but it was a very interesting story.
