MIGHT HAVE BEEN A GOOD BOOK
AVID READER
The first three chapters laid a fine foundation. The last three chapters cleaned up the case nicely. However, despite listening twice to each of the middle three chapters, I still have no clue as to what happened. I understand that LibriVox is a volunteer organization, but this sort of thing is quite without excuse!

As a non English speaker, but semi-fluent in English, I can handle many accents and dialects. But the Indian woman that is reading chapter 4-6(7), is just too much. I'm all for hearing different English spoken, but when I can't even understand what she's saying, then it's pointless
issue with understanding

I attempted to listen to this book first in my truck while traveling. all was good until it hit chapter 5. despite backing up and playing it over and over I could not understand the reader clearly enough to appreciate what was taking place. I then tried it in the quiet of my house using an external speaker as well as earbuds and encountered the same problem. I eventually decided to skip chapter 5 hoping my imagination would allow me to fill in the missing details. But then chapter 6 was read by the same person and after 2 minutes I gave up.
second reader is impossible to understand

I appreciate her effort, but it took me several minutes to realize the reader was reading in English, and then I understood only a few of the words. I gave up listening when I saw she was reading several chapters of the story. If I skipped all those chapters I’d lose the thread of the story.
couldn't understand

try as i might, I could not decifer what the woman reading chapters 4,5,& 6 was saying, so I could not follow the story. I tried to.pick it up in chapter 7, but too much was lost. it's too bad.

it was impossible to understand one of the readers. I had to skip the chapters in which she was the reader.
I enjoy hearing different English dialects but....
