Frankie Goes to Flensburg is a moving drama based on a true story, written by Jennifer Howarth. Set in the spring of 1945, as the war in Europe was coming to an end, Major Frank Howarth, a lawyer in civilian life, is taken from the frontline of the Allied army in Holland and sent to Flensburg, Northern Germany. Along with two other soldiers, he is tasked with setting up a civilian administration, but what they discover there is truly surprising.

This production features a talented cast including Paul Popplewell, Sam Troughton, and Mark Straker, among others. Directed by Celia de Wolff, this Pier production was first broadcast on BBC Radio 4 on October 5, 2015.
