10 Noël Coward Present Laughter
Noël Coward
Present Laughter is one of Noël Coward's finest and funniest comedies, originally adapted and produced for radio by Ian Cotterell. Set in the glamorous world of the theatre during the jazz age, it features the egotistical charmer Garry Essendine, a role Coward wrote as a vehicle for his own talent.
As Essendine prepares for an extended tour of Africa, he is visited by a colorful cast of characters, including his ex-wife, lawyer, secretary, and an admiring young playwright. The stage is set for a battle of glittering egos, filled with sharp repartee and humorous antics.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
