08 02 Noël Coward Tonight At 8 30

Noël Coward Tonight at 8:30 features two compelling plays. The first, 'Fumed Oak', adapted by Malcolm McKee, tells the story of Henry Gow, whose life is dominated by a snivelling daughter, a slovenly nagging wife, and a hideous mother-in-law. Set in 1930s South London, tensions rise as domestic revolt looms.

The second play, 'Family Album', takes us to Autumn 1860, where the Featherways family gathers to hear the will of their deceased father. As the Madeira flows, memories become less rosy, and Burrows is summoned to open a mysterious trunk from the attic.
